All About Facial Masques

There are typically three different levels of facial masques, which can be selected based on individual skin type.

Mild Masques

Mild facial masques can be used by women with Dry, Combination, Mature, and Sensitive skin.  It can also be used by men.

The masque will tighten and purge pores in 10-15 minutes, twice a week.  Typically, fine, clay absorbs impurities and helps remove dead surface skin cells.  Ingredients such as apricot oils unmasks supple, smoother skin.  It will invigorate worn-looking skin and stimulate circulation.

Usage: First cleanse face with a cleansing cream that will leave your face pH correct, then pat face dry.  Apply masque with dry fingertips, working quickly in the direction of the facial muscles – up and out on the forehead, down on the nose, up on the cheeks, above the upper lip and down on the chin.   Avoid eye areas.   Allow the masque to dry for 10-15 minutes maximum.  Remove with warm, moist facial towel.  Do not use immediately before or after Facial Scrub.  Follow with toning and moisturizing steps.

Strong Masques

Strong facial masques can be used by women with oily and acne-prone skin.  Can be used twice/week.

The masque will cleanse and refine stubborn pores.  Some proprietary products are effective because soft clays and corn meal absorb dirt and oil embedded in skin.  Jajoba and ginseng are good ingredients to relax and rejuvenate skin, improving color, clarity and firmness.  You will soon see your pores starting to close-up.

Usage: First cleanse face with a facial skin cleanser lotion that will leave your face pH correct, then pat face dry.  Apply masque with dry fingertips, working quickly in the direction of the facial muscles – up and out on the forehead, down on the nose, up on the cheeks, above the upper lip, and down on the chin.  Avoid eye area.  Allow the masque to dry for 10-15 minutes maximum.  Remove with warm, moist facial towel.  Do not use immediately before or after Facial Scrub.

Bio-Tech Specialty Masques

Thermal fusion facial masques can be used by all skin types except sensitive.  The masque is recommended for use twice/week, however, can be used up to five times per week.

The thermal fusion masque is a safe and natural alternative to Retin A®, Renova®, Glycolic Acid, and other harsh chemical peels.  Advanced, proprietary thermal fusion technology ensures maximum activity and penetration.  You will see an immediate and continuing measurable improvement in skin texture, clarity, and firmness.

Usage: First use a facial skin cleanser that will leave your face pH correct, then pat face dry.  Using dry fingertips, massage a generous amount onto face using circular motions.  Avoid eye area.  Activate enzymes by applying water onto fingertips and again massaging in circular motions.  We recommend leaving masque on for up to 5 minutes, then remove by rinsing with cool water.  Follow with toning and moisturizing steps.

Warning: With some of the specialty products, you may experience mild to moderate tingling/heating sensation and reddening effect following application.  This is an indication that the product is properly activated and is working to remove dead skin cells.  This is a normal reaction and can last up to two hours following application.  This will lessen over time.  If the condition persists or worsens, discontinue use.

Please note – using regular soap to cleanse your face will strip the nutrients from your skin and, therefore, your face will not be pH correct.  In order for any facial masques to be effective, your skin must first be pH correct.
