The Art of Couponing: How to be an Extreme Couponer

Couponing is an art form… seriously. It takes organization and discipline to be an effective couponer. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been proud of myself for clipping a coupon only to find it months later, expired.

Cutting coupons is easy. Using coupons is trickier. Learn how to be an extreme couponer – or a regular kind of couponer – from our panel of experts. They have provided us with a few tips to help us save the most money by using our coupons effectively.

Save More by Using Your Coupons Wisely

Here are some ways to get more savings by using your coupons in an organized and efficient manner:

1. Register with online coupon clubs, retail stores & mfg websites for the products you use to take advantage of the coupons savings that they offer. Instead of buying from Macy’s traditional brick-in-motor store, you should shop online with Macy’s coupons.

2. Get the Sunday newspaper each week and clip the coupons that they have. Go through sales fliers and use your coupons for items that are already on sale to save even more money.

3. Organize your coupons in groups such as food, paper products, drug items, pet supplies etc. You can purchase organizers with pockets or use envelopes to sort them.

4. Make a shopping list for the items you need and paper clip all the coupons that you have for those items to the shopping list for a speedy check out. If possible, to save additional time create your shopping list in order of where the items you need are located according to the store layout from entrance to exit.

5. Join membership programs at the stores where you shop and then combine the coupons with the membership savings, or other sales that are offered each week to save even more.

6. Try to shop at places that offer double or triple coupon savings.

Organize, Organize, Organize

By keeping your clipped and digital coupons organized in a binder, you will save an immense amount of time and stress prior to each trip to the grocery store. You’ll also save the most money by ensuring that you can not only successfully combine coupons with sales, but also not let any expire.
