Peach Fuzz After Menopause – You Got It?
For years now, society has allowed men to have midlife crises. They run out and buy a sports car or they find new wives! But women have often had to suffer their crisis in private, by suffering hot flashes, weight gain, and even a vapid sex drive. This is otherwise known as Menopause! The reason we keep it to ourselves is because it’s very private, and a lot of us don’t like to talk about it to anyone. But the key to making it through is knowing that this is just a transition into something that gives so much more. We need to realize, that this is a journey, and it’s important to know it’s far from over! Menopause is not the end of the world, or indeed the end of your life!
A lot of women feel a very real loss of confidence during their transition, and one of the reasons for this is ‘peach fuzz after menopause’. Some ladies have often claimed to have a real ego bashing during their transition, as the fine hair that covers our bodies makes a more pronounced appearance… on our faces! It’s really not as bad as it sounds, and in a lot of cases it’s virtually undetectable and quite manageable, but for some people, these menopause symptoms can be quite distressing…
It’s important to remember that you’re far from alone in this situation. Many women go through the same situation, and can often feel less of a woman because of the facial fuzz they’re suffering, and confidence can drop dramatically. It can be a very lonely process, but there is a lot of menopause information out there that can help combat not only your Peach Fuzz but your confidence drop too, so sit back, take a deep breath, and prepare to begin on a new journey to love yourself again.
First of all, you need to accept that your Peach Fuzz is part of you, and there are a lot of women out there with the same amount, and even more than you! A lot of women find that foundation can help flatten and cover your fuzz, but sometimes this can just exaggerate the problem. If this is the case, then you have a range of methods to consider.
Firstly, and the least drastic, is tweezing and waxing. This method is most commonly used for those rogue hairs on your upper lip, and can provide a quick fix for those of you who feel like your upper lip hair rivals that of your husband!
If you have more than just an upper lip fuzz, but a fuzz that also covers your cheeks and even your forehead, you could always try electrolysis. Electrolysis is one of the only proven ways of removing rogue facial hair, although compared to laser removal, it can be more painful and has been likened to sensations such as bee stings and prickling. It targets each individual follicle on your face. It generally only concentrates on a small area of your face, like around the eyebrows etc, so it could take any number of sessions depending on the treatment you require.
If you don’t think you could handle the pain, then it’s always worth speaking to your Doctor. They may be able to prescribe something to prevent the growth of the fuzz on your face. This has got to be the most painless way of slowing peach fuzz growth, and lightening it slightly.
It’s always worth while speaking to your Doctor before trying anything. There are a lot of options out there, and it’s always handy receiving some professional advice before you dive in at the deep end.
And remember to think of the positives of Menopause symptoms. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel from hot flashes and heavy bleeding. No more worry about pregnancy and best of all – a lot of women find their voice during this time and realize that they have nothing to lose, but a lot to gain!
Don’t let menopause symptoms get you down, there are so many ways to help manage the less desirable side-effects, that you’ll hardly feel like you’re managing anything. The key is finding something that makes you think ‘Wow, this is me, and I love me’, whether it’s finding ways to remove Peach Fuzz, or learning to love it. I wish you all the luck in the world, and I hope one day soon you can love the new beginning you have been given!
