False eyelashes – all the celebs wear them today. But what are the beauty secrets to applying them? Here’s a 4-step process to proper application and removal:
Beauty Secret #1 – The biggest mistake women make with false lashes is looking straight into the mirror. What you should do is put a makeup mirror on the table so that you’re looking down. This way you can see exactly what you’re doing and the strip will apply right on the lash line.
Beauty Secret #2- Hold the strip of lashes up to your eyes before you apply glue – if they’re too wide, trim them down. For easier application, you can cut the strip into three or four pieces and place them with tweezers. Even if your lashes come with adhesive, it’s worth using a strong-hold waterproof glue. A good one is Ardell Duo Eyelash Adhesive. Apply a small amount of glue directly to the base of the fake lashes, let it dry for 20 seconds, stick the strip on, then wiggle them into place.
Beauty Secret #3- Trace on black liner to fill in any gaps, then gently clamp lashes with a curler to blend your real lashes with the false lashes. If desired, you can up the intensity with one coat of mascara.
Beauty Secret #4 – At the end of the night, don’t treat your fake lashes like a Band-Aid by peeling them off, which can hurt. Instead, dissolve the glue by pressing a makeup-remover-soaked cotton ball against your eyelids, gently slide down and slip the lashes off.
