In an effort to bring you the latest information on the health and beauty of your skin, I research health articles, the internet, and medical studies.  Here is some interesting information I found on supplements to help give you a beautiful skin treatment.

Coenzyme Q10 - This is an excellent antioxidant – “it protects the skin from oxidative stress and helps give cells the energy the need to repair themselves.”  It may also play a role in treating skin cancer.  Since it can be as stimulating as caffeine, it’s best to take it in the morning.

Vitamin C – Without this antioxidant, your body cannot make more collagen.  While it is available in creams and serums, it’s much better absorbed when taken orally.

Evening Primrose Oil- This omega-6 fatty acid “helps your skin make ceramides to hold onto water more effectively.”  It’s even known to treat eczema.

Fish or Flaxseed Oil – This Omega-3 fatty acid ”strengthens the skin’s barrier, which keeps moisture in and irritants out.  They also help reduce inflammation and treat conditions like eczema.”

Polypodium Leucotomos (found in Heliocare Pills) – This fern extract “has been shown to protect skin from UV damage.”  It’s suggested it be taken on days that you’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors.  “There are also very good studies showing it decreases redness after sun exposure.
