According to a health article from the Mayo Clinic, a large-scale study, published in December 2009 in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found no evidence that ginkgo biloba prevents memory loss or
slows the progress of cognitive decline in older adults. This was true for both those who had mild cognitive impairment at the start of the study and for those who didn’t.
Are there side effects to Ginkgo Biloba?
One of the side effects of ginkgo biloba may be excessive bleeding. In rare cases, seizures have been reported due to the usage of ginkgo leaf or seed. Other side effects may include digestive problems, headaches, allergic skin reactions, or muscle weakness.
So, I guess the real question is, should we be taking ginkgo biloba at all? Does anyone out there know for sure?
