It occurred to me lately that I had been on a diet for most of my life and it doesn’t seem to matter what I do; the battle of the bulge is not something I’m winning. So I thought; what part of my general body care is so wrong?
Now I know diet is a major women’s health issue and after much soul searching and reflection I realized I was avoiding the basics. The five basic no-no’s listed on most health and beauty tip lists. These five foods not only affect your waistline, they can also affect your mood and your skin. What is it you should be avoiding?
#1. Candy – The little devil your dentist hates, packs on the pounds and affects your health. These calories are empty and you never fill up so you just keep eating. So what’s a girl to do? Retire that candy jar you love so much and fill it with beautiful potpourri.
#2. Alcohol – How damaging is a little glass of wine? Well not only is the calorie count higher, but the morning after your body literally will crave more fattening foods due to the effect alcohol can have on your insulin levels.
#3. White Bread – Can be as addictive as candy and as filling; but be careful wheat alternatives can actually be higher in calories. Health Tip: Try using lettuce instead.
#4. Cheese – That little nibble as a snack before dinner can double your calorie count not to mention a myriad of other health issues. Don’t be fooled by the size either, that little chunk of heaven is as bad as the same amount of chocolate.
#5. Red Meat – How can protein be bad for your body? Well your actual serving size is the size of an iPod! In this case it’s the amount that you eat that is the problem. Health Tip: Try chicken or fish for a more filling and lower calorie alternative.
Now these may not be the most popular health and beauty tips and avoiding them 100% of the time may be close to impossible; but if you at least practice moderation, your body will love you for it and so will your skin.

Really beneficial – continue to spread your message. Getting excited about an update. For too long now have I had the urge to begin my own blog. Suppose if I wait any more I’ll never ever take action. I’ll be sure to add you to my Blogroll. Thanks again!!
Nicky: if you can’t eliminate them completely from your diet, moderation is the key. Remember portion control and pay attention to the amount of calories you are consuming and try to build the rest of your day accordingly. For example, if you have steak for dinner make sure you pair it with a healthy low calorie vegetable and try to leave off the butter. Sometimes how much of what you eat is as important as what you eat. Good Luck!
Wow I was truly shocked by your article, I am a huge lover of these foods. Candies I can avoid and live without, minus the chocolate. I already eat whole wheat bread, only because I prefer the taste, however red meat I love and cheese. Alcohol I am a social drinker, How can I build a healthy food guide for myself, but still incorporate these foods? I look forward to your response, thanks for the great articles keep up the great work.
