Love the Hair You Have
If you've got curly hair, you envy women with straight hair… while they sit back and envy your curls!
We always want what we don't have especially when it comes to hair!
So, I decided to ask experts what we can do to love the hair that we have. From hair styling tips on products to cuts – there is a little something for everyone in today's tips:
Natural Born Hair
Wear what you've been given at birth!
Summer is not the time to try to keep curly hair straight or straight hair curly. You will only frustrate yourself and more importantly, you create a double identity for a NEW you.
Keeping moisture in the hair during summer is the key for any hair type. Masterpiece Haircare has many products such as Inner Fuel to help transform your hair on a daily basis from dry and brittle to healthy and shiny.

It's All About Natural Texture
Don't listen to people that tell you once you get older you have to wear your hair short or conservative. In our salon we see a lot of older women and boomers and not a roller-set in sight! We focus on the texture of the hair. As we know grey and white can bring a difficult texture so we suit our hairstyles to bring out the best in their texture. Short hair doesn't mean you have to look like all the other Chico's shoppers.
Natural texture, not permed, and hair styling with the perfect product and brush versus roller sets. Wearing hair with texture and softness is flattering on everyone and easy to style . Express yourself. Create your own personal style. If you see something you like on a "younger" person find the right stylist that will give you something similar but that also works with your texture and maintenance level. In the end, don't let the grey bring you down, you can enhance with strong steel low-lights, panels, or blend with an all over color. Don't be afraid to try a purple streak, it always looks great with grey!!!
Take Care of the Hair You Have
If you have thinning hair, there are many hair care and styling products that really help make hair appear thicker. Look for anything with a "V" that adds VOLUME to the hair (shampoo, conditioner, gel, mousse, cream, or spray). However, for my clients with hair loss, I first suggest Women's ROGAINE(R) Solution, an FDA approved treatment clinically proven to help stop Female Pattern Hair Loss.
Of course, treatment is just the first step. There are different ways to cut and style your hair to help it appear thicker. Layered cuts can add volume to your hair — whether it's curly, wavy or straight. Stick with minimal layers, rather than heavy ones that can look flat. Consider cutting deep bangs to help mask thinning hair on the top of the head, or a zig-zag part and a "messy" style. Remember, everyone's hair is different, so work closely with your stylist for a look that fits you best.
