Accessorizing With Bandanas
Want to dress up your top knot? Add a little something to your waves? Try accessorizing with bandanas! This underrated accessory isn’t just for cowboys and bank robbers anymore. Let My Best Friend’s Hair show you some fun ways to rock the look.
Rev Up Your Updo – When the weather is hot and you need to keep your long locks off of your neck, a cute updo is your best option. Spice up your updo with a floral bandana. These three styles above are perfect for a day at the beach or a morning at the farmer’s market. Try a thick fold to give your scalp protection from the sun. This trick can help keep your color from fading and keep your bangs out of your face.
How to get the look: First put your hair in a messy bun. Then fold the Bandana into a triangle and keep folding until about 3″ wide. Place the center on the nape of your neck and tie to a knot on top of your head. Tuck ends under. Pin with a few bobbypins for an all day hold.
Wear With Your Hair Down – We love this hippie style! Use a bandana to help keep your waves from becoming a windblown mess. We have a feeling we’ll be seeing this look all summer at concerts, art festivals, and street fairs.
How to get the look: First give your hair that wavy look with the beach spray. Then fold the Bandana into a triangle and keep folding until about 2″ wide. Place center on your upper forehead and tie to a knot on the back of your head. Tuck ends under. Pin with a few bobbypins for an all day hold.
Whether you’re wearing a bandana with your updo or with long waves flowing, pay attention to little details like folds, bows, and twists.
