How Moms Can Fit Celebrity Style In To Their Life

Anyone who’s watched a child for more than an hour knows what a toll it can take on your daily routine and priority list.  Stay-at-home moms and working moms alike have trouble putting themselves first (or even in the top 3).  This is why it’s more important than ever to put an extra thought into how to make yourself feel good and like your part of the contemporary world.

Hollywood is overflowing with stylish and smart celebrity moms.  Sure, it’s easy to say that they can pull it off because they have limitless resources such as money, stylists, personal assistants, and nannies.  Even still, we can take a page from their professionally designed books and work their style into our lives.

Follow the easy, classic, sophisticated looks of moms like Julianne Moore and Julia Roberts.  They always look put together whether they’re in trench coats and pencil skirts or dark straight leg jeans with a simple white t-shirt.  Keep things simple and timeless.  Ditch the mom jeans – this means no high waists (unless they’re the new 40’s inspired trend and you have a flat belly), no tapered legs, no overdone fading or whiskering, and absolutely NO elastic waistbands!  Ever!

If you’re aiming for the classy modern Hollywood look, think twice before going out of the house in an appliquéd sweatshirt or novelty printed socks.  It takes no more time to put on a knee length knit skirt than it does to put on pleated denim shorts and it’s actually more comfortable.  Add a cotton button down shirt or plain fitted tank and you can look like a casual yet sophisticated million bucks.  Celebrity moms like Halle Berry, Gwen Stefani, and Gwyneth Paltrow are often photographed playing in parks or walking their kids to school dressed casually, yet modern.   Cover un-coiffed hair with a trendy cap or hat and you’re ready to go.
