You Don’t Have To Age As Fast As You’re Aging

Accelerated AgingOnce I finished writing my last two books Death by Supermarket: The Fattening, Dumbing, Down, and Poisoning of America, and Healthy, Sexy, Happy: A Thrilling Journey to the Ultimate You I turned toward the promotional part of book writing. Marketing is a shock to most bookworm writers, and it takes a while to get your stride once you emerge from your book-writing cave and realize that you have to actually sell your message.

My mission is to inspire health for the mind, body, and spirit by eating a diet of real, whole, living food. How hard could it be to sell people on real food? Sure in columns, blogs, radio interviews, and public appearances, I get off track and meander in different directions, but I like to come back to this very simple message. But it blows my mind that even though it is so simple, some people have a hard time grasping it.
So let’s meander a little bit and see if we can work our way back to real food.
Two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese. Millions of kids are medicated. Still more millions are diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, and degenerative diseases of aging. And we’re dying the not so nice, impersonal hospital deaths that I’ve talked about many times. In between its hair loss, tooth loss, wrinkles, eye bags, flab, cellulite (fates some feel are worse than death).
There is no way to stop aging. It begins at birth and ends with death. But you don’t have to age as fast as people are aging today. You can prevent and reverse accelerated aging. I happen to know the secret reason we are aging so fast, and I’m going to share it with you shortly.
First of all accelerated aging (obesity, disease, and outward signs of aging) should be my legacy, but it’s not. I was raised on factory food products, including lots of sugar. I smoked cigarettes from ages fourteen to twenty-four. At age forty-six I suffered a thyroid crash because of irresponsible hormone replacement. We all have things related to our health that we regret. Some people were swept up into cocaine, heroine or prescription drug use. Others never exercised a day in their lives. Others made bad medical decisions and were hurt by their doctors. And don’t discount the damage of coffee addiction. There are lots of things we can beat ourselves up about.
We’re living way below our health ideals and then dying cold and ugly deaths because we’ve been duped into eating and living in ways that have been extremely destructive to our health. What I’m about to say is the most important truth about health that you will ever hear, so stay with me. This secret will change your life forever.
Metabolism is a complicated orchestration of biochemical reactions that are essentially divided into two functions: breaking down and rebuilding. Our bodies are made up of dynamic tissues that are constantly disposed of and replaced. The breaking-down process clears out the old cells and cellular material (enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters), and then the rebuilding process begins. Your body breaks down on a cellular level and rebuilds 24/7/365. This intricate replacement process requires that we eat thesame biochemicals that we’re made up of—plants and animal foods.
You want to provide your body with the best-quality building materials available. If you don’t eat a balanced diet of real, living food, but instead eat soy products or other factory produced food—or even a diet comprised of nothing but veggies—it’s like remodeling your house with deficient and/or inferior materials. If you choose to remodel your body year upon year with deficient or inferior materials your metabolism will begin to falter. Your body will break down more than it will rebuild, and you will be on a speedway toward aging.
Real, whole, living food—historically eaten by human beings—provides materials for your body’s rebuilding processes. Real food is anything that could be picked, gathered, milked, hunted, or fished: meat, poultry, fish, dairy, vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, seeds, and nuts. Food that are grown or raised in a clean environment and haven’t had any science fiction processing done to it.
I support eating cholesterol foods, meat, eggs, whole raw milk, and I personally eat a pound of butter every week. Butter is a health-giving, beautifying and sexifying food.
I encourage drinking green veggie juice made from nonstarchy vegetables. The nutrition in green vegetables is necessary for meat, butter, eggs, and milk to do their jobs. That’s why I advocate eating a balanced diet. The nutrition in green veggies is anti cancer, anti cellulite, and makes nice skin and hair. The nutrients in veggies are locked behind hard cellular walls. So even if you’re eating a lot of veggies—and I do support eating cooked and raw veggies—you’re not going to get the same nutrition as if you blenderize them.
Grains are fairly new to human consumption—10,000 years. I think it’s good to include some whole, living grains in your diet, but all carbs should be eaten with your current metabolism and health in mind. I go into this in great detail in Healthy, Sexy, Happy. Suffice it to say here that I do not support the low carb diet, that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about finding personal balance.
The wonderful thing about food today is that we have more variety at our disposal than ever before. We can eat foods that kings and queens couldn’t eat in the past. We have all the food available to us to heal, and to become healthy, sexy, and happy.
When you eat in balanced way, the time of famine ends. Cravings end. Bingeing ends. Your metabolism gradually increases and your famine-inspired high insulin response declines to a normal level. Your body shrinks down naturally. You’re going to feel sexy again and get your sex drive back. You will feel centered and balanced about food again. And that’s what we’re after mind, body, spirit equanimity.
When you look at the whole picture of what has happened to us with accelerated aging because of factory food, diets, and drugs, doesn’t it just make sense that eating a balanced diet of real, whole living food is the answer?
I think it is.
Om Shanti!
