Super Food: Persimmon Smoothie

Fresh Persimmons Contain Antioxidants

Fresh persimmons contain antioxidant compounds vitamin-A, beta carotene, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin and cryptoxanthin. These compounds function as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals that play a role in aging and various disease processes.

Persimmon Smoothie:

  • 3 – 4 Very Ripe Persimmons
  • 1/2 to 1 cup of Plain or Vanilla Almond Milk (more for a thinner consistency, less for a thicker one)
  • Several Cubes of Ice
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Chopped Fresh Ginger
  • Honey to Taste

Blend all ingredients.
