Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

I’ve been asked several times for my homemade spaghetti sauce recipe so I finally put it down on paper. It’s a recipe that has been handed down through generations – of course, we all put our own special touches on it. I hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients

2 Lbs. Ground Round
3 Cans (15 oz.) Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
1 Can (8 oz) Hunt's Tomato Sauce
¾ Can Water (in empty Tomato Sauce Can)
¼ Onion – diced
2 Teaspoons Dry Minced Onion
1 Tablespoon Dry Oregano
1 Tablespoon Dry Italian Seasoning
1½ Teaspoon Minced Garlic (in jar)

Recipe Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook beef until brown. Drain, than squeeze out remaining liquid.
  2. Clean out skillet and place beef back in skillet, add remaining ingredients. Cook over high heat until boiling, then cover, turn heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened (approx. 2½ hours).
  3. Serve over your favorite pasta.
